Steffi O'Brien is a competitor in the Midwest Combat Chess League currently signed to The Phoenix.

Nothing about O'Brien's MCCL Rookie year could be considered ordinary. Her showing in The Crucible put her in the middle of the pack, but a few of the team coaches (most notably of which was Chris Marchand, describing her as a "Martial Savant") saw her potential. O'Brien was drafted in the first round of the 2014 MCCL draft by The Templars.

Her season fight record of 18-1 is not only incredible by veteran standards, it's the best record for an MCCL rookie in the history of the league.

O'Brien proved to be an invaluable work horse for The Templars (in the Queen position), as replacement King Mike Davis leaned on her heavily. After The Phoenix's Queen Rachel Bigelow was injured during a Week 4 fight with Noah Stein, The Phoenix made what must have been an outrageously good trade offer (terms of the trade were not disclosed) to The Templars, as O'Brien was sent to The Phoenix as Rachel's replacement at the trade deadline where she continued to be an invaluable asset to The Phoenix's roster, having no small hand in their continued success and eventual appearance in the 2014 Championship Match.

Fighting StyleEdit

O'Brien earned her nickname of "The Magician" due to her lack of formal training in many weapons, yet, "like magic" is able to very quickly and intuitively figure out how to use most weapons.
